Professor Cheryl-Ann Potgieter was formerly the Director of Gender and Development, a cross-cutting research unit at the HSRC. She is Associate Professor in Psychology at the University of Pretoria.

Renay Pillay is a researcher in the Gender and Development Unit of the HSRC.

Sharmla Rama is a research specialist in the Child, Youth, Family and Social Development research programme at the HSRC. Prior to joining the HSRC she was an assistant director at Statistics South Africa.
